Theme Set - Gamma
Note: This will be updated as I get ideas.
#01 - Snow
Those around him huddled away from the cold and returned to their warm houses; the homunculus stood, hand outstretched, and watched as the flakes of white collected in his hand, unmelted.
#02 - Child
Envy yelled at Pride because he could never really understand, but the retreating back of the angered elder looked more like a child than the younger's cool countenance, reflected in dull, gold eyes.
#03 - Brick
#04 - Judgment
He stood before the gate and stared, braided hair slipping loose from its tie slowly, before his eyes dulled and its million tiny hands painted the marks across his flesh in the dark; an ouroboros, and a name- Pride.
#05 - Powder
#06 - Grim
#07 - Trap
#08 - Star
#09 - Possession
His wounds were still healing from the 'playing' they'd done when Envy grasped a handful of his hair at the scalp, pulling him upward and uttering "whose are you?" and all he could say was "yours."
#10 - Bandage
#11 - Pearl
#12 - Glass
#13 - Classified
The military didn't like him- kept him under lock, key and chain, and only the strange man they called 'Fuhrer' and a single alchemist were allowed to see him.
#14 - Buttons
#15 - Closet
#16 - Ash
He'd met the Flame Alchemist only once, but it was enough to make him decide he would no more, as the ash of his flesh re-formed.
#17 - Definition
He wondered, sometimes, why a being made up of so many souls did not have one of its own.
#18 - Staircase
#19 - Nail
#20 - Prey
#21 - Backwards
#22 - Trouble
#23 - Little
#24 - Collar
#25 - Circle
He remembered a bright shock of blue, from somewhere back before he'd known his name, and another that seemed like him- Edward Elric, putting his hands to the array.
#26 - Hands
#27 - Freedom
#28 - Last
#29 - Scab
Child as ever he seemed, there were no times when his injuries- human-inflicted or otherwise- presented him with a scab that could be picked at and made to bleed.
#30 - Crown
#31 - Time
#32 - Rice
#33 - Worn
#34 - Paint
A child once showed him how to use his fingers in the swirls of red and blue to make pictures, because she hadn't been afraid.
#35 - Ache
#36 - Cherry
The blood of that man, before it darkened to a sickly brown, was bright and red, like the lines that curved over his body, or a single, shiny cherry.
#37 - Library
Something in him made his expressionless eyes widen at the sight of so many books all in one place; he ran his fingers over the spines, and that something told him, 'home.'
#38 - Win
#39 - Loss
#40 - Fold
#41 - Music
The others- Envy, Greed- called the anguished voices of humans music, but Pride, instead, liked the soft cadence of a piano, etched in the air by slender, graceful fingers.
#42 - Bell
He was quiet, like Sloth- so quiet that Father had deemed a small collar for him; it jingled a soft, brazen sound with each footstep.
#43 - Sleep
Watching the lights of houses and streets slowly flicker out, Pride wondered what it was like to fall into those things called dreams.
#44 - Contact
Duplicate eyes stared back at him, bright gold against bronzed, and there was only a single, slight touch of fingers before the homunculus was the one to retreat, leaving Edward Elric to stare and feel his knees shake.
#45 - Electricity
It was blue, and prevaded his senses, when Father worked his alchemy, the air smelling of ozone and crackling with static that made blonde hair stand on end.
#46 - Milk
He'd been presented with milk only once- Envy grinned in that strange way and set a glass before him- but his fingers simply got wet when he tried to touch it, and the glass tipped, bleeding white onto the stone floor.
#47 - Wild
Pride seldom got angry, but when he did, even those who could easily stand against him suddenly had fear cross their faces.
#48 - Expectation
"C'mon, ya little shrimp, why can't you live up to your name just once?" Envy growled, and Pride blinked back at him, unsure.
#49 - Mechanism
Father hadn't called them things, hadn't called them monsters or homunculi or even human- he called them machines, and Pride wondered why he remembered the weight of metal, too.
#50 - Finale
He could feel his body rejecting itself, the red stones coughed up in messy clumps, and hear Envy's laughter as the blonde homunculus found the grip of mortality.
